Now that we’re back and well rested from our honeymoon, I wanted to put together a little travel guide Turks & Caicos style! I’ll admit, when I learned the trip would cost more than our 10 day trip to Italy (travel guides here, here, here and here), I wanted to get back to the Amalfi pronto! However, this trip was EXACTLY what we needed after wedding week.
We had the most relaxing time and spent most of our days on the beach with a drink in hand. Can you believe how BLUE that water is? It doesn’t even look real!
Let’s talk food. If you’re a seafood lover, this place is heaven! I think we ate Conch, an island specialty, every single day. It’s a MUST if you’re visiting the island.
Although we walked the beach daily, we didn’t do much in terms of exercise. So, I’m back on my wedding diet this week! I’ve never felt better, so I plan to keep up with the lifestyle. I am working on sharing my meal plan for those of you who are interested. Be sure to subscribe to the newsletter so you know when it drops.
I highly suggest TCI for luxury, romance and relaxation. Check out my Turks & Caicos Travel Guide below:

Where To Stay:
We stayed at the Gansevoort hotel. It’s chic, swanky (without feeling stuffy) and ultra relaxing. The “wow” factor is present immediately on arrival. All the stress of the wedding melted from my body as soon as we rolled up to the resort. Their delicious rum punch didn’t hurt either! I would later go on to have one too many of these mid-week, read on:
Speaking of zen, there’s an Exhale Spa & Gym with yoga classes. The pool is ULTRA relaxing (no house music, resident DJs or swim-up bars here): My most favorite treat was nightly turndown service. We looked forward to returning from dinner to the sounds of spa music playing on our tv, bedside dessert and our bed all made up for sleep (I am currently scheming up ways to have Matt do this for me at home).
Where To Play:
[Just Married Swimsuit by Cake Life]
- Island Vibes Snorkeling Tour– This 4 hour excursion was the HIGHLIGHT of our trip. You’ll take a cruise around the island before heading out to sea for snorkeling. Afterwards the boat will take you to Iguana Island where “Big Mike” will dive for Conch to make fresh ceviche for lunch. Afterwards you’re free to jump off the boat’s diving board and go down the slide. Oh and they keep the rum punch flowing. Girlfriend had ONE too many of those and barely made it to dinner that evening.
- Thursday Fish Fry–Enjoy fresh fare from local restaurants (conch fritters are a must), live island music and LOTS of local flavor.
- Shopping at Salt Mills
Where To Eat:
- Coco Bistro-FAVORITE
- Infiniti Bar (pictured above)-at 90 ft. long it’s the longest in the Caribbean! Have a drink here then move it on over to their formal restaurant and raw bar.
- Gansevoort Fisherman’s Night —pick your own fish, caught that day!
- Mr. Grouper
- Bella Luna
Unfortunately we missed Da Conch Shack since it was closed for renovations. We hear this is a MUST so we’re currently plotting our return.
Have you visited Turks & Caicos? What are some of your favorite restaurants and things to do on the island?
