Real talk my first impression of this Ilia’s Super Serum Skin Tint. Initially I thought this supposed “cult beauty favorite” had majorly missed the mark.
Listen, there are many things I don’t know BUT when it comes to beauty I feel I’m skilled at making a sound judgement pretty quickly. Just as I was about to return the product, a trusted friend echoed her praises and I knew I had to give it another go.
As it turns out, there was also a little bit of user error on my end. For starters, you need to shake the bottle really, really well. Also, I had initially thought the color (mine was “shella” ) was far too light but turns out you need to allow it to “warm up” on the skin for a few minute to reach it’s true color.

Ingredients Spotlight:
- Contains a blend of Hyaluronic Acids, plant-based Squalane, and Niacinamide

Application & Wear:
- Best applied with your fingertips or a makeup brush (vs. a BeautyBlender or sponge).
- Allow product to sit on skin for 30-60 seconds before it warms up and reaches it’s true color.
- If you are oily, set your t-zone with a setting powder as it’s very dewy finish.ย
- This is a very minimal, coverage foundation and it’s not very buildable. So if natural beauty is your jam this is for you!
