Babeskills Sips

It’s Thursday, which is basically the weekend in our world, so let’s talk cocktails!

Now that it’s fall, it’s time to swap the OJ for AJ. This skinny little bevy combines two of our ultimate favs: champs + apple cider!! Oh and did we mention this Apple Cider Mimosa also has some “health benefits”::

  • Cinnamon– boosts memory, promotes weight loss and contains iron/calcium
  • Apples-helps control weight, detoxifies liver (multi-tasking at it’s finest?), reduces cholesterol, protects against all sorts of cancers, boosts immunity etc

Here’s another quick tip: make SURE you’re using ALL natural/organic apple cider that’s NOT from concentrate

To Make:
1. Wet the rim of a champagne glass
2. Roll rim in cinnamon spice
3. Carefully add equal parts champagne or prosecco with equal parts apple cider
4. Finally, an dried apple wedge for garnish never hurt anyone

Try this delish Apple Cider Mimosa as weekend brunch! Be sure to tag #babeskills so we I can join in on the fun.

What are some of your favorite fall cocktails?

Mocktails anyone?! “Dry January” didn’t exactly work out this year as this month brought along much to celebrate. SO to make up for it, we’ve been working on some delicious non-alcoholic drinks to offset some of the damage.

I love a good mocktail because it still feels celebratory but keeps your health in check (wedding diet anyone?).

These Pomegranate-Thyme Grapefruit mocktails are SO refreshing and have a TON of flavor. You’ll never miss the alcohol we promise! Basically these sassy little drinks walk and talk like a cocktail, but have ZERO booze.

So let’s chat health benefits: Pomegranates have antioxidant, antiviral and antitumor properties, plus  are said to be good sources of vitamin A, C and E (more here).  Grapefruit keeps the heart healthy with a powerful combination of fiber, potassium, lycopene, vitamin C (more here)

Mocktails
Shopping list: grapefruit, pomegranate juice, pomegranate seeds, soda water & fresh thyme.

Do you guys enjoy mocktails? Any good recipes to share?

Coffee is life and if you’re anything like us, you’re already dreaming of your next cup. Our latest fav? Creamy Coconut Coffee.

Adding coconut oil to your coffee creates a velvety smooth and delicious morning treat that’s frothy like a latte and 100% guilt free. UNLIKE those “skinny” vanilla lattes from SBUX, which have more calories than breakfasts.

Also, if you’re looking to cut some dairy from your diet and work in more coconut oil, this is one simple step! After all, life is about balance and those small little changes really add up.

Here’s the CliffsNotes on eating coconut oil: it kills bacteria, is an anti-viral, promotes weight loss, eases acid reflux, reduces inflammation and speeds recovery from a cold,

To make this 2-ingredient, creamy coconut coffee for yourself, watch our quick DIY video below. Tip: Try this recipe with cold brew coffee ( Chameleon Cold-Brew is our fav) because it’s much more smooth and less acidic the regular coffee.
