SHOP THE LOOK:
We’ve officially entered the season where you’re freezing in the morning and full on sweating by lunchtime. My favorite way to combat transition weather is with LAYERS. I’ll wear my my jacket in the morning and then later tie it around my waist to be comfortable for the rest of the day. Speaking of being comfortable, flats are a must for walking around the city (love this lace-up version) as well as this oversized Cuyana bag which is perfect for toting snacks, farmer’s market finds and my camera.
These photos were taken by my Husband, which is still so weird to say. On that note, wedding depression is REAL. Do you remember anticipating Christmas as a kid then feeling sort of empty when it was all over? Yah, it’s kind of like that.
It’s just strange to plan for something for an entire year and then it’s over in the blink of an eye. As a high energy person, I’ve been trying to throw myself into just about everything possible to combat the emptiness: work, new hobbies, books, my business…you name it. But none of these things ever seem to fill the void.
Then all of a sudden, I had a revelation that it’s actually fine to just BE: without a jam packed calendar, a scheduled vacation to look forward to or any real plans for that matter.
And since I’ve given myself permission to just BE, I’ve felt a sense of peace that I haven’t been privy to for quite some time. So often we’re caught up in what’s next that we miss all that’s happening right now. And really, when you think about, the present moment is all we have. The past is gone and the present isn’t promised.
If you’re dealing with self-induced stress or sadness, go easy on yourself and know that you have permission to just chill. Practice being present by wholeheartedly focusing on the task at hand and by doing all things with intention. Even, the dishes 🙂
Have any of you experienced wedding depression or any type of depression for that matter? What did you do to get over the hump?
Pssst…Pickin’ up what we’re putting down?
