[A little Peek At My Wedding Choos]
Something old, something new, something borrowed something CHOO?
These days finding the perfect wedding shoes can be just as important as finding the dream dress. For many of us, shoes are the original love affair!
Even if you’re wedding shoes won’t be seen much under your dress, there’s something to be said for a comfortable pair that makes you FEEL like a queen.
Here are my tips on how to find your dream wedding shoes:
Stay True To You:
Just like your dream dress, your wedding shoes are another expression of who you are! If you love color, why not wear blue? If heels aren’t your thing, rock some pretty flats. Some brides are even doing converse shoes & cowboy boots. Moral of the story: do you, boo!
Wear The Shoes, Don’t Let Them Wear You:
If you’d never wear skyscraper heels out to dinner with your fiance, your wedding isn’t the time to start! You’ll be standing all day for photos and dancing the night way–the only wobbling you should be doing is later, after a few glasses of champagne. On the other hand, if you can tip toe across a balance beam in stilettos as effortlessly as Simone Biles, then by all means.
Also, it’s a good idea to break them in! Wear them with some socks while you clean or do the laundry (I swear this really works) and call in reinforcements like these foot petals, if you need to! If you’re having your ceremony outdoors these high heel protectors are amazing and will help keep you stable.
Be Open To Where You Find The Dream Shoe:
Champagne taste on a budget? That doesn’t mean you can’t have the designer shoes you dream of for your wedding! Shoe are important to me, so I worked a splurge into my budget from Day 1. I was lucky enough to score an amazing deal on my “wedding choos” which allowed me to put the money toward other fun extras.
Try local consignment shops as many women will re-sell their evening/bridal shoes after only a few wears. Here are some of my favorite places to score a designer shoe deal:
- Luxury Garage Sale (pro tip: you can work w/ a stylist and let them know your budget, favorite designers & styles. They’ll keep a lookout for you!)
- Poshmark
- Tradesy
