A few weeks ago I read that more than 80,000 chemicals are added to products we use daily and 80% of those products can be absorbed into our bodies through our skin. Basically, I damn near spit out my organic rolled oats.
Here I am fighting the good fight, taking special care to purchase only the cleanest, organic, non-GMO foods, meanwhile my morning beauty routine wasn’t doing me any favors.
Here’s the deal: the keyword in my life is BALANCE. I am a kale salad with an extra dirty martini on the side kind of girl. And when it comes to makeup I’ll remain pretty loyal to a few staples like my Armani foundation, Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick and Anastasia brow pencil.
That said with illness at an all time high, due in some part to our ongoing exposure to toxic chemicals, I am more than open to cleaning up my beauty routine as much as possible.
So, a few times per month, I’ll be sharing natural non-toxic discoveries that ACTUALLY work. I want to take my time to do the research and test out the products before I can give my recommendation. My goal is to save you time, money and make your beauty routine a little healthier in the process.
My first better for you beauty swap: moisturizer.
Personal fact: I love soft, hydrated skin but I HATE the texture of lotion (weird, but true). So I’m actually killing two birds with one stone, by reaching for a body oil!
Pacifica’s roll-on body oil is 100% Vegan, cruelty free and formulated without ingredients like silicone, petroleum, parabens and phthalates.
Why should you care? These ingredients known carcinogens and disruptive to the endocrine and reproductive systems.
This body oil smells amazing, is non greasy and keeps me hydrated all day. Hello, gorgeous glowing skin! I also love that it’s a roll on because oils can get messy. It’s honestly perfect for travel.
I’ve been using it for a couple weeks and brought it with me to my honeymoon in Turks and Caicos. If it can keep my skin hydrated after being in the Caribbean sun all day, I think it deserves the seal of approval!
Ok weigh in! What are your thoughts on “better for you” beauty? Any recommendations?
Also: What swap should I test next? Skincare? Makeup? You’re in charge!

Love this post babe! I’m all about balance too.. kale salads and rosé ha. I need to try this body oil though! I’ve tried the coconut oil craze but it leaves my skin a greasy mess and gets everywhere… never seems to absorb so this seems like the better option. Would love to see a post on your fave face masks!
