Hi babes!! As some of you may or may not know I am getting MARRIED this September!
I promise this won’t turn into a wedding blog, but I’d love to fill you in on the fun things as well as document the planning process for my own personal memories! I’ve also had quite a few questions from fellow brides-to-be and thought WTW might be the perfect place to swap tips!
First up: Budgeting
Here’s the deal, wedding planning would be SUPER fun if I were say, a millionaire. I’m not great with the words “no” and “budget” but thankfully my fiance is the “yin to my yang” in that regard and often brings me back down to earth.
On the subject of budgets, I wanted to pass along a small tip. I recently enrolled in Digit –a FREE, automated service which helps you save money without even thinking about it!
Here’s how it works: Digit automatically figures out when and how much is safe to save based on your lifestyle/spending patterns and moves a few dollars from your checking account to your Digit account. I saved $110 last month, without even noticing! Seriously, so sly, but in the best way.
I signed up for Digit because I think it’s great way to save for special extras, like wedding accessories & bridal party gifts. Even if you aren’t planning a wedding, it’s still an easy way to stash away a little “mad money”.
In conclusion of my first wedding post, if we’re being honest here, I don’t love planning my wedding as much as I thought or hoped I would. Now that the stress of securing our venue and vendors is off our plate, I DO feel like we’re entering a new phase of wedding planning. Only FUN decisions like dinner food, cake flavors and florals seem to lie ahead and I am looking forward to wedding planning part 2!
Have any of your brides (past and present) experienced some of the same feelings? Any tips on managing budgets/wedding stress? I am ALLLLL ears!
