I recently visited the big apple for less than 24 hours and let me tell you, girlfriend covered a lot of ground. I was lucky enough to stay in SoHo, which is my FAVORITE neighborhood in NYC.
The food is to die for, the shopping is unparalleled and it’s located right by my second favorite hood–Little Italy.
If you’re short on time, here are my suggestion to making the most of a quick trip:
[line]Where To Stay:
I stayed at NoMo –the cutest boutique hotel in a primo location in SoHo. The entry way is so quaint and I loved having breakfast in the outdoor garden. The quinoa salad at the hotel’s restaurant is also to die for.
Where To Get Caffeinated:
Here are two of the cutest cafes to get your caffeine fix! Both have the most instagramable locations and the branding is on point. I am one of those people who appreciates attention to detail on even ordinary, everyday things.
Maman
Cha Cha Matcha
Where To Shop:
- Reformation
- Planet Blue –One of my favorite places for boho/designer pieces
- The VIntage Twin –reworked vintage items.
- Mango–very similar to Zara and we don’t have one in Chicago
Where To Eat:
- Prince Street Pizza in NoLita (North Of Little Italy) -You don’t go here for New York style pizza, they are famous for their pepperoni pizza squares. That said you’ll definitely get the full NYC experience as there isn’t anywhere to sit and eat. Find a spot at a counter along the walls to stand and enjoy a few slices, then be on your way.
- Jack’s Wife Freda –a great mediterranean inspired spot for brunch
- The Butcher’s Daughter – a local favorite for delicious, lighter, vegetarian/vegan fare.
I’ll be visiting NYC quite a bit (and hoping staying for longer each time). PLEASE send me your recommendations!
