As my own little rule of thumb, I like to test a product for at least a full month before I share it on BABESKILLS. From all natural deodorant and witch hazel to ice rolling and nutritional supplements I like to take my time to make sure something is also worth YOUR time.
I’ve recently run through a lot of items in my makeup bag, so I thought it’d be fun to do an “empties” post. Empties are great because I’ve used these products all the way up, giving them plenty of time to provide results (or not).
Also, another tip I wanted to share. I am a self-proclaimed travel/trial sized junkie. Every time I am at Sephora, I love to pick up a few trial sized goodies I’ve had my eye on so I can test them out before I commit to a full size version. I never get around to returning a beauty product I don’t like so it becomes a major waste of money. I’ve found this is the perfect way to give a new product a chance without an upfront investment.
So, without further ado: my beauty empties and would I buy them again?
It Cosmetics CC Cream
You guys I’m devastated about this one. I absolutely LOVE the coverage of this product and clearly, by the condition of the tube, I used the crap out of it. No other product has blurred redness and hyperpigmentation quite like It Cosmetics CC Cream. I thought it was a dream come true, however it wreaked havoc on my skin. Unfortunately it clogged my pores and I had more breakouts than in my teen years. So this is why I will NOT repurchase this. (sidenote: i am still LOVING It Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye)
Fresh Soy Face Cleaner
I really wanted to like this soy face cleanser, as I’ve seen it written about everywhere and I know that it’s a cult favorite. The only word I could come up with to describe it is “meh”. It didn’t remove all my makeup and i hated the smell. Although it didn’t cause any breakouts, I think there are far better face cleansers out there for the price. So for these reasons I will NOT be repurchasing.
Anastasia Dipbrow
I could watch YouTube mavens draw on their brows with Anastasia Dipbrow all day long. Turns out, it’s not so easy to do at home. For starters you need an extremely steady hand and it smudges so easily once it’s on your brows. LOVE me some Anastasia…just not Dipbrow. I’ll be sticking to her eye pencil, my OG!
Josie Maran Argan Oil Light
Winner winner! I will totally be repurchasing Josie Maran Argan Oil again. It replaced my nighttime moisturizer and saved my face this winter keeping it smooth and supple. Although my skin is pretty sensitive to products with oil in them, this face oil didn’t cause a single breakout. Game changer!
Do you currently have any empties you would or would not repurchase? Share!
